I’m Sara and I can’t think of anything I love more than food. Well, I’m sure I can think of a few things, but food tops the list. Food and I are in a serious relationship.
Almost all of the food that enters my mouth is gluten free or primal, with the occasional donut or treat. (More on my obsession with donuts later on). I choose to fill my plate with nutrient dense foods that help fuel my body and create optimum performance. That sounds so fancy doesn’t it? Really, I want to feel good, have some killer workouts, and not feel like I got hit but a truck afterwards. Oh and hey, I want to look good too!
Along with BBK, I own and operate House of CrossFit, a CrossFit gym in Southern California. I’ve come a long way from my days of eating fast food and dealing with chronic pain and illness. Over time, I’ve established a love for fitness and food, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. Here’s the thing; Pairing CrossFit and my nutrition education has completely changed my world. I’ve never felt happier or healthier and surprisingly, at 10lbs heavier than what I thought my normal weight was (shocker) with 15% body fat. I am completely obsessed with baking and anything you can make in the kitchen. I have taken an infatuation with cooking to a whole new level. It’s about time I share my education, recipes, trials, and (sadly, some failures) with all of you!
When I’m not baking or picking up a barbell, I’m working with athletes (local members and national clients) to optimize their performance by dialing in their nutrition. I practice a flexible dieting approach (not to be confused with IIFYM) that helps athletes of all ages, shapes and sizes reach their fitness goals. Whether it’s fat loss, muscle gain or feeling more energized, I get to help create custom plans (training & nutrition or just nutrition) for individuals to look and feel healthier and happier.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram and watch my life unfold (lots of food porn to drool over).
Yours in bacon and barbells,
