FAQ

Q. Do we meet in person? What about video calls?

A. Since we logistically can’t offer this service to meet with every client in person, we provide you something better. Every client receives unlimited communication with their coach via electronic messaging. When you have a question, you don’t have to schedule an appointment; simply send it to your coach and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Keep in mind, we use the weekends to #getunplugged and we think you should too!

Video calls are always welcome and encouraged (even from the kitchen). We just may want to see what is in your fridge…

Q. Do you give me meal plans?

A. We don’t tell you what to eat at each meal (insert broccoli and tilapia on repeat); rather we teach you how to reach your goals within your dietary preferences. Nothing you like will be eliminated and you won’t be forced to eat the foods you hate. Sound too good to be true? Well we think it’s grand. You’re in charge of YOU and the foods you eat. Eating the foods we enjoy and learning about foods that make us look and feel good. GO ahead, have that piece of chocolate.

Q. Do you personal train?

A. While nutrition coaching is our first love (and we think we are really great at it), we do offer personal training programs. They are not for everyone. You must have access to a gym or at-home workout equipment and be familiar with CrossFit and/or Olympic lifting movements. Otherwise, we leave the training up to you, whether your routine includes CrossFit, walking, or yoga.

Q. Do you work with expecting or nursing mothers?

A. Absolutely. Simply inform your coach about your expectant/nursing status so we can ensure you’re receiving the proper nutrition to fuel your goals. #mombod

Q. Do you coach a keto diet?

A. Yes! Not only have we followed a ketogenic diet previously, but many of our successful clients have been coached through one. Not to worry; if you change your mind half-way through your month of coaching, your coach will help you readjust your plan.

Q. What type of clients do you work with?

A. See answer: ANYONE. We coach youth and seniors, regardless of shape, size and lifestyle. Our program can be completely customized to meet your goals.

Q. Why do I have to commit for two months?

A. Real talk. Growth and change doesn’t happen overnight. We require a minimum of two months to ensure you learn all of the practices and methods to achieve results. Also, it takes time to lose or gain weight (and make any health related change for that matter). If you are here to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks, you are in the wrong place. After your two months, you may continue on a monthly basis or cancel at any time.

Q. What if I have medical issues?

A. We work with dozens of clients battling autoimmune disease, PCOS, chronic digestive issues and hormone imbalances, to name a few. Although we cannot provide medical treatment, we have seen results following a macronutrient based approach to wellness. As with any diet or exercise routine, it is best to consult with your primary care doctor before beginning a new program.

Q. What if I have dietary preferences?

A. We’ve worked with clients who are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and just those who HATE vegetables. The beauty behind macros is: there’s no one size fits all diet. You are given a program that helps you determine “how much to eat” and not “what to eat.” There is also no such thing as “good” and “bad” food. We’ll discuss more about your relationship with food when you begin coaching.

Q. I’ve already been calculating macros, can this help me?

A. We help macro veterans often! Sometimes the numbers are there but the accountability is not. And guess what? Coaches need coaches too! It’s also likely that a change is needed – you can’t be on a deficit forever!

Q. how does coaching work?

A. We’ll start but getting to know each other and your goals. You’ll fill out an onboard form, answer some questions and (wait for it…) send a few days of your food diary history. We’ll walk you through this process.

Next, we’ll receive your information and create your custom nutrition plan. Then we’ll review all of the information with you via phone and email to make sure you know exactly how to get started. This plan will tell you how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, and fats to ingest daily. We’ll also send you a guide on some healthy food options but ultimately you get to decide what foods you eat each day to hit your macronutrient goals.

You’ll take girth measurements and a scale weight weekly, maybe even progress photos too! You’ll input your daily caloric into our cloud-based spreadsheet along with feedback about your week – notes, workouts, traveling, adherence, etc. This is how we track your progress.

We’ll complete weekly check-in calls to discuss your data, what’s working, and what’s not. Sometimes there is homework and sometimes we make changes to your macros. If you would like to talk to your coach more frequently, that can be done by email (as much as you would like) or with pre-scheduled phone calls.

Q. How is this program different from other programs?

A. We make custom programs that are specific to each client. There is no one-size-fits-all program or meal plan with empty promises. If we are all built differently, have different lives and do different workouts, how can we can we all follow the same food plan and get results? I think you know the answer.

Truth be told, a lot of programs work, but they aren’t for everyone and they may not be designed for your goals. We will help you identify goals and the best approach to get there so you can finally ditch the quick fix plan and get the results you want.
